I came across this DIY, natural flea-repelling dog shampoo that I could easily make (and can re-make any time I run out)! I combined the following in a spray bottle.
· 20 ounces of warm water · 4 ounces of Aloe Vera gel · 2 tablespoon of Castile soap · 5 drops of lavender essential oil (feel free to choose any essential oil that pleases your nose) I found it odd that the soap contained that much water and was that fluid, but surprisingly, it made the application much easier. I wet Snoop with warm water, sprayed the soap onto his coat and worked it through, like I usually do when bathing him. Because Snoop has that thick, fluffy Aussie fur, it usually takes some time to rinse all the soap off him; I typically miss a few spots. However, this homemade soap rinsed off just as easy as it went on. I purchased all the ingredients at my local Neighborhood Walmart, except for the Castile soap. I chose to buy it from GNC because they had the lavender scented one (which I wanted to reinforce the lavender scent in the shampoo). If you have a little digger on your hands, like Snoop here, try this easy, chemical-free garden spray. It will make your pup's favorite excavating sites a little less appealing.
1. Slice 2 jalapenos and place in pot with 4 cups of water. 2. Bring water to a boil, then let cool. 3. Once cooled, transfer to a spray bottle. 4. Spray around garden or yard to repel your fur child. Hello! My name is Bean and this my goofy pup, Snoop! He is half Pembroke Welsh Corgi and half Australian Shepherd. He is almost a year old and it has been an adventure being his mom so far. I am here to share the things I do and learn as I experience doggy parenthood at 20 years old in South Louisiana. |
